Folly Wood
First gathering, activity day and its great – new members, working on new clearing and making dead hedge – lots of comments about ‘many hands making light work’. However, identify need for co-ordination between ‘task’ leaders – its difficult this enabling without creating a bottleneck. For my wider practice, this also identifies a similar question about many forms of collaboration.

Thesis and Watery Landscape writing, River, Folly Wood
20th to 25th October – reading and writing for thesis and article. Realise that writing is an integral part of the practice.

River Project meeting and showing of recent River work: Suze Adams, Tara and Bart, Chris Smith, Lucy Guenot, Ffin and Kel Portman.
New ideas from Chris about projecting the Bore at Gloucester Rugby home game, along with people’s videos of travelling to the match. Anticipation, build-up, event.
Ideas for collecting people’s input to yet to be agreed shows/exhibitions based on Lucy’s printed banners
Tara demonstrated her miniature museum which would fit in really well
Agreement to work with AONB on a series of shows of work based on walks along the River Frome, with final show, maybe at the Museum in the Park next Autumn.

Stroud Nature, Thesis, Watery Landscape Article
Meeting with Steve Roberts and Andy Reed to plan a spring, green-space conference and Festival of Nature. Conference to focus on engaging people with caring for green space. Looking to include workshop on “landscape story” and “River” project.
Reading and writing for Thesis and Watery Landscape article with Iain Robertson and Kel Portman.

Tutorial
Tutorial with Andrea Liggins, Rob Newell and Paul Jeff. Heavily criticised over writing (submitted end of July) with useful suggestions about approach to take. As always, helpful and supportive.
