trip to Cardiff Museum to see Ffin and Joseph Beuys and David Jones exhibitions.
Very interesting to see Beuys’ work in the context of contemporary situationist work and relational art. For me t particularly raised the question of me making more use of contemporary social media in ways that continue the thread of “everyone as artist”, but would need to address sensitivities around “self promotion”.
While I find many of his images intellectually interesting, I find it hard to respond to many of them emotionally. The pieces I most responded to emotionally were those showing his work with the White Horse and Coyote. I’ve been thinking a lot about white horses in the context of Ridgeway Project.
